Rather plush hotel not far from the banks of the Rhone. The manager has been in touch and says they regularly welcome cyclists and they are keen to see more. Hôtel de la Villeon has all the bells and whistles you'd expect of a 4-star hotel – it's furnished throughout with some amazing pieces and each room is beautifully presented (plus you get free toiletries and slippers). There's an onsite bar that opens to a courtyard garden, plus a further 2000m² of gardens that overlook the river Rhone and the nearby Hermitage vineyards. Yet despite its luxurious and palatial feel, it's still quite intimate with just 16 rooms. Free wifi and 24-hour reception for late arrivals. A stay here really would add a touch of luxury to your French bike ride!
