Here's a list of campsites on the Vélo Francette bike route from La Rochelle to Caen.
I've had a lot of requests lately for campsites along La Vélo Francette following my ride along the route in May.
As I've simply not had time to see if all the campsites want to be listed in our bike-friendly accommodation section, I'm posting a PDF list of the campsites on the route here. (This list is accurate as of September 2015).
Please note that I have not stayed at any of these sites so cannot testify to the quality of their facilities or give you any more specific insights. (I stayed in B&Bs and small hotels when I rode the route – you can see that list here).
However I can tell you that while a small number of the campsites listed stay open year-round, most start closing from September 30 onwards, so if you are riding after this date, use the contact email addresses (they are hyperlinked) and phone numbers in the PDF above to verify opening dates.
The PDF has pinged into my email box thanks to Willy Aubineau, the 'chef de projet-coordinateur' of the Francette project, who has been working super hard to provide international riders with information and advice. (He speaks excellent English and can be found Tweeting here when he's not out riding with his pet pooch. I'm sure he'd also be interested in feedback on the route if you've ridden it recently).
