Hotel la Chaumière is a family run hotel owned and operated by Patricia and Jack. It's on the regional Vendee bike route, so an ideal stop for cyclists wanting to cycle an established route but also wanting something a little off the beaten track in terms of major cycling routes. The hotel retains its thatched cottage style and offers both privacy and space, including a rambling garden and pool area with plenty of shady places to linger. This is an ideal stop for history buffs, as it's within cycling distance of Puy du Fou, one of France's premier theme parks. The hotel itself carries its history on its walls with paintings, books, frescoes and ancient weapons all part of the decor. There is an onsite restaurant serving local produce with a sophisticated edge. All bedrooms have balconies or terraces. There is also a secure area for bikes.
