The Novotel Suites Reims Centre is much like any other Novotel city centre hotel in most respects: it has spacious rooms and is hugely handy for both the station and city centre sights.

5 things we liked about this hotel

1. Location
With the rear of the hotel looking out over the railway lines, the Novotel Suites Reims Centre couldn’t be better placed for a quick getaway from the station. It’s also super handy for city centre bars and restaurants, the marvellous food market, and Reims Cathedral – all are within walking distance.

2. Rooms
As you might expect from the name, the rooms at the Novotel Suites Reims Centre are much larger than your average Novotel. Catering for business visitors, our room had a large meeting table as well as bed and bathroom, which we appreciated while packing – and repacking – our panniers before setting out for the Meuse à Velo bike route. The room was surprisingly quiet overnight, even with the windows open.

3. Breakfast
The buffet breakfast was a great spread with fruit, cereals and yoghurts as well as bread, cheeses, meat and croissants. There’s also a nice little courtyard garden for breakfasting al fresco in sunny weather.

4. Secure parking
We left our car – and our bikes – in the hotel’s gated car park.

5. Staff
Staff were super helpful and spoke excellent English, even though we’re always keen to improve our French.

Novotel is part of the Accor chain of hotels that includes the cheaper Ibis Budget and Ibis hotels, as well as the more upmarket Mercure chain. The official website offers an best-price guarantee.
