The Vélo Vert Festival in the Vercors attracts cyclists from across France for an annual feast of two-wheeled fun.
Billed as a 'Grande Fête du VTT' – a grand festival of mountain biking – it attracts more than 250 bike and accessory brands who bring along their wares for you to try out.
There are 13 courses for product testing, plus competitions (a downhill event, Enduro, a street race and electric race), plus a challenging night ride, a family challenge and an bike-ice experience. There will also be group rides and hikes across 15, 30, 45 and 75km circuits.
One-day festival passes start at €19, with additional entry fees for some rides and events.
The weekend is for all abilities from beginners (and kids) through to expert riders.
The town of Villard-de-Lans is on the northern fringes of the Vercors in the Isère department of the Rhone-Alpes, just around 32km south-west of Grenoble.
