Stage 20 of the 2015 Tour de France has been re-routed following problems with the Grand Tunnel du Chambon. Here is the new route info.
As we reported at the start of last month, there are major structural problems with the Grand Tunnel du Chambon, which had been on stage 20 of the 2015 Tour de France route.
The tunnel's closure has already forced the re-organisation of the traditional Marmotte route and now – with not solution so the structural problems in sight – the Tour de France has followed suit.
The stage still starts at Modane Valfréjus and ends at Alpe d'Huez, but the Galibier has been dropped and replaced by Col de la Croix de Fer, which will now be climbed twice in 2015 after also appearing on stage 19. (See here for more on cycling in the Maurienne Valley).
Here is the new stage profile.
