Reader Q&A: Should I drive or ride to see the Tarbes stage of the 2015 Tour de France?

Published by Lyn on 20 June 2015

Melanie emailed to ask if it was better to ride or drive to see stage 10 of the 2015 Tour de France from Tarbes. Here's my advice.

Our tips for watching the Tour de France in person.

Hi Lyn,

My husband and I are travelling to France this summer and are hoping to see Stage 10 of the Tour de France in Tarbes. We have accommodation booked but are having a difficult time trying to plan for how are where to go for the best spectator experience. Is there any kind of spectator shuttle or is cycling up the best option? We do have a car but it looks like driving would be a challenge.
Any suggestions you have would be wonderful.

Cheers,
Melanie.

Hi Melanie

No, there is no spectator shuttle. If you drive you need to leave super early to beat road closures.
If cycling is a possibility, it is by far easiest.

Enjoy!
Lyn.
