Pierre & Vacances confirm all properties are bike-friendly

Published by Lyn on 13 September 2013

Pierre & Vacances, which operates self-catering apartment villages in France, has confirmed to Freewheeling France that all its properties offer safe and secure bike parking. By Lynette Eyb.

The Pierre & Vcanaces Lacanau apartments.

An exciting development for people looking for cycle-friendly self-catering options in France (especially groups and families).

I've just had confirmation that Pierre & Vacances, which operates self-catering holiday villages across France (and Spain), will allow clean bikes to be locked in their apartments overnight. This may seem like an obvious solution for guests wanting to cycle on their holidays, but you'd be surprised how many hotel and self-catering holiday chains have a 'no-bikes-indoors' policy.

Some Pierre & Vacances properties DO also have dedicated cycle parking areas as well.

I've started adding the Pierre & Vacances properties to our cycle-friendly accommodation section, and hope to have them all on the site soon. I'll of course include which of the properties also either have bike hire available onsite or available locally.

In the meantime, here is the link to their site.

I hope to head off to their Lacanau apartments this weekend to check out the facilities first-hand (I'll report back ASAP).
UPDATE Sept 18: Here's my report about our weekend in Lacanau using the Pierre & Vacances apartments as a base.

I'd love to hear from other hotel and apartment owners who offer cycle-friendly facilities in France. You can email me directly on lyn@freewheelingfrance.com. You might also like to refer to our blogs on secure bike parking and our advice for providing accommodation for cyclists in France.
