La Pyrénéenne Cyclosportive in the Pyrenees in July includes two routes that climb the Tourmalet and the Hautacam. Local cyclist Simon Stay has this overview.

Cyclo La Pyrénéenne

La Pyrénéenne Cyclosportive is a well established sportive that starts and finishes in Argelés-Gazost. - This year it takes place on Sunday, July 5.

There are 3 routes, two of which include the Tourmalet and the Hautacam:

La Quatre Vallées: 180km, Argelés-Tourmalet-Aspin-Hourquette d'Ancizan-Hautacam (4800m of climbing).

La Deux Vallées: 115km, Argelés-Tourmalet-Hautacam. (3200m of climbing).

Simon is a local cyclist who lives at Arrens, just off the road to the Col du Soulor, which leads on to the Col d'Aubisque. He's just 15km from the climb upto Cauterets and knows these roads well. He runs the bike-friendly Les Artigaux Gites
