International cycle tourism festival, Epinal, August 5-12

Epinal to stage a week of cycle touring rides and events this summer for the FCCT's showcase cycle tourism week.

FCCT semaine federale international de cyclotourisme

Each year the FFCT, which is France’s cycle touring association, holds a week of cycling based events around a single venue. This year the 80th edition will be held in Epinal, a town in the Vosges department of eastern France.

The Vosges is one of France's greenest areas, with almost half of it covered by woodland and forests. The Vosges mountain range can be found further to the east with the Grand Ballon the highest peak at 1424m.

The event will be held from the August 5-12. Each day of the week will have lots of different rides scheduled to highlight the areas, landscapes, architecture and history. You can ride the course on your own, in groups or join guided rides, although at the time of writing these were nearly full. Camping and meals are also available and you can also just turn up for specific days if you prefer.

You can find a dedicated website here with the full programme and conditions – the site is a bit messy, but it's in English, German, Dutch and French.
