Some years after it was published, France en Velo: The Ultimate Cycle Journey from Channel to Med remains an ideal route planner.
This is an oldie but a goodie.
France en Velo: The Ultimate Cycle Journey from Channel to Med - St Malo to Nice by John Walsh and Hannah Reynolds has done the work for you in planning a north-south bike route in France.
The book was originally published in 2014 but it remains a useful route-planner for cyclists looking for inspiration for a north-south cycle tour of France.
It combines travel writing style with guidebook info (where to stay, what to see etc) as it retraces the authors' journey across the country.
While some of the accommodation and other time-specific things may have gone out of date, the core information provided remains invaluable.
The book is still available from Stanfords Travel Bookshop.
