A rewarding circular Sauveterre bike ride that offers lovely cycling and a diversion from the popular Canal de Garonne route.
Distance: 36km
Difficulty: Moderate (gentle hills with about 485 metres gained over the ride)
Sauveterre is probably best known to cyclists as being a stopping-off point on the Canal de Garonne Bordeaux-Toulouse bike route, but it's well worth spending a few days here if you can. The cycling is truly lovely. This ride gives you a first general impression of what this beautiful region has to offer; a patchwork of vineyards and wine chateaux, beautifully restored country houses and ancient villages, built around churches dating back to the English era.
