Here's a handy 320km cycle tour from the ferry port in Caen – a great little route to explore the Calvados department of Normandy.
This route from the ferry port just north of Caen takes in some 320 kilometres of relatively flat countryside (with occasional hills!), through largely rural areas along back roads.
It manages to avoid the coastline that tends to be busy in summer but it does take in tourist treats like Honfleur and Falaise, famous for its part on the Battle of Normandy and now home to Musée Août 44, which tells part of this story.
