A lovely cycle touring route that links the Ardennes to Reims, the gateway of the Champagne vineyards.
Distance: 153km
Difficulty: Moderate - gains 1430m over the 153km, which can be broken up into a multi-day route
If you are looking for a road less travelled in France, then this could be it. This is a predominantly rural route that links the Ardennes massif to the capital of the Champagne wine-growing region. Expect to follow wonderful ridges and hilly landscape that offer spectacular views. It is a backroads route on shared roads with light traffic.
This is a great route that can be used to link to/from the excellent Trans-Ardennes bike path, which now forms part of the Meuse Valley bike route. It also connects with the Marne Valley bike route.
