Rob and Emma are cycling enthusiasts and local experts in the Pyrenees. Their ever popular week of cycling the classic cols is based on the current Tour de France itinerary and previous Tour routes. They call it the “I’ve been there” cycling week. Offering a challenging but enjoyable week, rides take in summits such as the Col du Tourmalet, Aspin and Peyresourde, as well as Luz-Ardiden (2011 Tour finish) and Hautacam ski station (2008 Tour and Etape finishes). There’s also an optional ride to Gavarnie (UNESCO world heritage site) and the Col de Tentes 2200m, which is the highest paved road in the mountain range. The tour price is based on 2 sharing an ensuite room and includes full board in either a 3-star chalet or hotel (except one free day, when you have breakfast only), five days of guided/vehicle supported cycling and bike storage. The price does not include airport transfers or cycle hire.

It's the complete package and includes 8 nights' accommodation in boutique hotels, guided riding and support car. Rides and stages include the Col de Portet, Col de Tentes, and the showcase Lourdes to Laruns stage on July 27 that features the Tourmalet. As the roads over the main mountain passes open after winter the focus of this tour is on providing a week to enjoy riding in the peaceful, spectacular and inspiring Pyrenees before the crowds arrive. The target is enjoyment, not torture! In our opinion this is a great time to tackle some riding with lower temperatures and less crowded roads. A guide will be on hand on all your rides to help ensure you get the most out of each day, while a support car is provided on longer rides. This fixed base tour – offered guided or unguided – explores the amazing diversity of scenery around the medieval town of St Antonin Noble Val, which must be one of France’s best-kept cycling secrets. The town is in the dramatic Aveyron Gorge, with cliffs rising sheer from the valley floor. You’ll discover secluded valleys, oak forests vineyards and austere limestone plateaux, all on very quiet roads. The region also has some of the best preserved medieval villages in France, especially the fortified hilltop bastide towns. The terrain is hilly, but gradients are always gentle. You’ll be staying in Saint Antonin Noble Velo's own 16th century auberge in the centre of St Antonin. Rides are typically 80-120km with around 1000m of climbing, but they can be tailored to suit different abilities.
