Cycling in the Correze, Massif Central and northern Dordogne

Locally run tours through unspoilt and undiscovered terrain

Offered by:
Correze Cycling Holidays

Phone number:
+33 (0)5 55 27 13 01

Tour length:
5 to 7 nights

Level of difficulty:
Moderate to challenging, but most abilities can be catered for

Price:
From €745

Set in the green heart of France, the varied terrain, stunning scenery and virtually traffic-free roads of Corrèze make it a great base for exploring the rolling foothills of the Massif Central above the gorges of the northern Dordogne valley. This largely undiscovered area of France provides a lovely variety of cycling: more experienced riders can climb into and descend through local river gorges or challenge themselves in the Cantal mountains (Puy Mary, 1588m). For gentler routes there's relaxed riding near rivers and lakes, or pedal through forests. These are flexible tours offered self-guided or guided by James and Sam, who have been running tours in the Corrèze for best part of 10 years. Prices include stylish B&B accommodation in a converted farm with a swimming pool and own lake, 6 four-course restaurant quality diners, afternoon tea and cakes, bike storage and workshop, emergency vehicle backup, and road bike hire if needed. Trips can be tailored for clubs, families or cycling groups.
