Patton House Reims is part of the Geroge Patton's family estate. General Patton led American forces across this part of France in World War 2, playing a key role in the liberation of Reims. The house – a 2-bedroom apartment – is maintained by Helen Patton, the General's granddaughter, herself an honourary citizen of the city. She is keen to welcome cyclists to explore the region by more peaceful means. "My goal is to give you the feeling of being surrounded by history and family so you will say 'adieu' knowing you’ll always have a home in Reims," says Helen. The house is in the heart of the city, and neighbours the Cathedral. It comes complete with a magnificent old fireplace, electric piano and steel guitar. This is an ideal place from which to explore the vines of the Champagne region. There's a fully equipped kitchen, but you can also ask about a catered option with a master chef available to prepare local dishes. Full sized garage for bike storage. Free wifi. English, French, German and Dutch spoken. There is also a Patton House in Normandy that welcomes cyclists riding the D-Day Beaches.
