If you're looking for a cycling holiday away from the crowds and in an area of France you may not otherwise have found, then this could be for you. From his large countryside base near the Haute-Vienne and Dordogne border south of Limoges airport, Andrew and Lisa at Haute-Vienne Cycling Holidays is offering self-guided and guided tours tailored to individual groups and riders. There are hundreds of kilometres of on and off-road tracks and roads in this area (including the Lawrence of Arabia route, which passes by just to the north). In particular, it's a hugely under-explored mountain bike area, and Andrew has mapped local trails to help share its best bits (GPS files are available). There's plenty of inhouse knowledge, too, for road riders – make your way from the door, or be dropped off at the start of a route farther afield. Airport pickups and hire bikes can be arranged.
