It's in the village of Gèdre – in the heart of the stunning Garvanie valley – and at an altitude of 1000m, meaning it comes with magnificent views of the surrounding valley. A mecca for skier in winter, it's also a wonderful cycling base in summer. around 30km from the Tourmalet, Gavarnie sees regular visits from the Tour de France.
