Le Moulin de la Quentiniere is an excellent fixed base for exploring signed bike routes and backroads of the Pays de la Loire/Normandy border area – and Dorn, the owner, is keen to welcome more cyclists. Just 20km south-west of Domfront, which acts as the junction between the Veloscenic (Paris to the Mont St-Michel) and La Vélo Francette (Caen-La Rochelle) bike routes, this is peak cycling country. Mont St-Michel is around 60km from the door; if you're arriving with car and bikes, the D-Day beaches are also within reach. In addition to the two major long-distance routes, there are more localised routes here for all abilities, offering many kilometres of quiet roads, beautiful undulating countryside dotted with villages and towns that are ideal refreshment or lunch stops. Located on the edge of the Normandie-Maine national park, Le Moulin de la Quentiniere also offers easy access to off-road routes and quiet ‘rail trails’. The porperty has been lovingly renovated and refurbished and has two self-catering houses that are great for families and groups of friends. Both are five-bedroomed and sleep 12 and 15 people respectively. All mod-cons are provided here, including an indoor heated pool and a games room. English and French spoken.
