Freewheeling France knows (and cycles) the area east and south-east of Bordeaux often and, let me tell you, it's hugely underexplored on two wheels. Sue and Willy offer a lovely base at Peche de Vigne for cyclists who want to dig a little deeper into the area around Sauveterre – a major stopping-off point on the Bordeaux-Toulouse bike route. All too often cyclists pass through here but don't allow time to get off the main route – this Entre 2 Mers Discovery Tour, based at Sue and Willy's B&B, gives you the chance to do just that. This area is rich in history – and vineyards. Within reach of Bordeaux but also far enough away to offer an idyllic rural village feel, its combines quiet local roads and local greenway routes with undulating hills and river rides. Cycle to the UNESCO-listed wine town of Saint-Emilion, discover the bastide town of Monsegur or ride the bike path to Bordeaux. The package includes breakfasts, dinners (including two at local restaurants), GPX files, plus paper roadbook and map. There are 8 different routes (35 to 70km) to choose from. Transfers from the Libourne train station or Bordeaux/Bergerac airports can be arranged. Bike rental (including ebikes) is also available. Tours run Sunday to Sunday April 30 to September 17, 2023 (please enquire if you'd like to start on a different day).
