Cycle along the Velodyssee to discover the island of Ile de Ré, wide sandy beaches, marshes, oyster farms and the towns Rochefort and Royan. Continue along small backroads through the Haute-Saintonge and Haute Gironde, and meet Cognac and Pineau wine-makers of the Charente. Discover superb Roman churches, caves, and some unique Gallo-Roman sites. At the coast, discover small ports along the estuary like Meschers-sur-Gironde, and charming villages like Talmont-sur-Gironde.
