On this bike trip you will discover an authentic French region: the Doubs Valley. This is a quieter backwater of France, but one put on the map in recent years by the Tour de France. Start your own tour in the magnificent city of Belfort, with its citadel and 18th century facades. Follow the Doubs as forests and cliffs are reflected in its green waters. This region is a real gourmet's paradise – indulge in cheeses, sausages and other cold meats. Your route passes through the beautiful city of Besançon and on to Dole.  You will also make a small detour through the forest to reach the royal saltworks of Arc-et-Sénans, revealing the industrial past of this region. This industrial heritage is also displayed in the very interesting Peugeot museum near Montbéliard. The price of this tour includes bike hire, accommodation, luggage transfers and all the maps and information you'll need to make the most of your trip.
