This cycle trip leads you through the heart of the Bordeaux region: from the wine traditions handed down for generations to the sandy coastline of the Atlantic with its fragrant pine forests. You'll start in Bordeaux, with the beautiful architecture of the UNESCO-listed city centre and its cycle-friendly river routes. Head north through the Medoc vineyards, passing some of the most prestigious wine houses in the world, such as Haut Marbuzet, Mouton-Rothschild and Lafitte-Rothschild. Then it's off to the pine forests of the Atlantic coast, down to the spectacular Cap-Ferret, and by boat to the Arcachon basin and the largest sand dune in Europe, la dune du Pyla. Finish your holiday at Arcachon, where you can relax and stroll at your own pace, enjoying the local oyster en route.
