Biarritz to Bordeaux by bikeStarting in beautiful Bordeaux (one of Freewheeling France's favourite cities), head west towards the coast along the traffic-free bike path to Lacanau. When you reach the coast, pick up La Vélodyssée and head south on dedicated bike trails, parallel to sand dunes and past deserted stretches of beach to Cap Ferret and the ferry to Arcachon. Stop off at the Great Dune of Pyla (recently voted one of the world's best beaches) before continuing through the pine forests of the Landes forest. From here, it's on to Biscarrosse, Mimizan and Moliets before you enter Basque country and the beaches of Hossegor, Capbreton and Biarritz. This is a gentle ride, with total distances per day ranging between 29km and 63km. B&B hotel accommodation, bikes and road books all included in the price.
