This fixed base tour – offered guided or unguided – explores the amazing diversity of scenery around the medieval town of St Antonin Noble Val, which must be one of France’s best-kept cycling secrets. The town is in the dramatic Aveyron Gorge, with cliffs rising sheer from the valley floor. You’ll discover secluded valleys, oak forests vineyards and austere limestone plateaux, all on very quiet roads. The region also has some of the best preserved medieval villages in France, especially the fortified hilltop bastide towns. The terrain is hilly, but gradients are always gentle. You’ll be staying in Saint Antonin Noble Velo's own 16th century auberge in the centre of St Antonin. Rides are typically 80-120km with around 1000m of climbing, but they can be tailored to suit different abilities. Fabulous lunch stops are also arranged, so you'll always be fuelled and ready to ride. The tour price includes accommodation and generous breakfasts on both days, customised GPS routes, endless local knowledge and a rescue service if you need it. Bike hire, guided rides, sports massage, lunch and dinner can also be arranged as extras.
