Explore the Côtes du Rhône by pedal power and sample some of the region’s finest landscapes, most charming towns and most delectable wines. The highlights of this tour include the spectacular scenery of the Chateaneuf-du-Pape vineyards, where you are never more than a short walk from an opportunity to indulge in the world-famous local produce, and the city of Avignon, with its rich history as a seat of power for the Catholic church. This is the perfect tour for oenophiles and history buffs alike. Other highlights include sampling the produce of the Château des Fines Roches wine estate during your stay, soaking up the cycle-centric atmosphere of the charming village of Bedoin and exploring the contemporary culture and rich history of Avignon. The price of this tour includes fully serviced bikes, water bottle and accessories, B&B accommodation, tour information pack upon arrival, detailed navigational material, often including GPS maps, local support whenever needed. Cycle around the romantic landscapes of Luberon
There’s a reason A Year in Provence author Peter Mayle chose to settle in the Luberon: in a country of magnificent regions and picturesque villages perchés, Provence’s Luberon arguably takes top prize. Colourful hillsides of vines, cherry orchards, olive groves and truffle-oak plantations are dotted with a never-ending supply of proud and defiant medieval villages, each perched high above the plains. These historic villages are all connected by small country lanes, making the bicycle the perfect way to get around. Visit Gordes with its ancient homes perched dizzyingly high atop the valley; wonder at Roussillon and its colourful buildings in every hue from pale yellow to deep red; explore Lacoste and the ruins of a castle once owned by the notorious Marquis de Sade; and test out the mysterious and mystical powers of the spring at Fontaine-de-Vaucluse. Then, at the holiday’s end, make your way towards Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, home to one of France’s most renowned weekly markets, and the uncontested antiques capital of Provence. The price of tour includes 6 nights' accommodation, 5 dinners, 6 breakfasts, luggage transportation, route notes and maps, a high-quality bicycle (with ebikes available).
