This 4-day self-guided tour will give you an intimate insight into the rich and turbulent history of the Normandy region. Cycle the D-Day landing beaches, taking in the American sector that includes Omaha Beach and the heart-wrenching American cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer. This 14-night tour which crosses the length and breadth of Provence, giving you a real opportunity to get to know the region and its people. Gaze over Azure blue seas and dramatic wild gorges while pedalling at a steady pace, and ending the day by diving into the refreshing waters – choose from rivers, lakes, the sea or your hotel pool. This tour featured short riding days and a really varied and interesting itinerary to give you plenty of time to explore the landscapes, small towns and villages, and to take time out from your cycling to enjoy other activities such as boat trips or visits to historic chateaux. The itinerary put together by Andy and Jane is mainly along easy, quiet lanes, including an old coastal railway line, but there are a couple of more adventurous days on offer too (although these can tailored to your energy levels). Offered guided or self-guided, the prices include a welcome briefing, 14 nights' B&B, some lunches, transfers, high quality bikes and support.

From Nantes,cycle the Loire estuary before reaching the serenity of the beautiful peninsula of the Pays de Retz. Cycle through charming seaside resorts like Pornic – the coast’s flagship city – before carrying on south through the salt marshes of the Vendée to Noirmoutier – a nature jewel that was the start of the 2018 Tour de France. From La Rochelle's ancient fortified harbour you'll ride on the Atlantic Velodyssey route along beaches, through marshes and pine forests. You'll discover the city of Rochefort and its 'Corderie Royale', Brouage citadel built by the French engineer Vauban, the marshes of Marennes, the oyster-farming port of La Tremblade and the costal town of Royan. You'll cross the Gironde Estuary by ferry to Le Verdon and continue your bike trip across Médoc peninsula. You'll cycle along the seashore then through Grand Crus vineyards such as Mouton-Rothschild. You'll reach Pauillac before getting to Bordeaux by train with your bikes to discover this historic and lively city. All in all, a great cycling holiday!

This tour will you down the Atlantic coast of France from Arcachon to Biarritz is an easy bike ride except for a short stretch after Biscarrosse, where you bike softly up and down the dunes, which lets face it sounds like fun anyway! You will begin in the beautiful old seaside town of Arcachon and then head south towards the highest dune in Europe, the Pilat dune befire following the Southern part of the Atlantic cycle route named Velodyssey. Along the way you will ride through quiet pine forests, nice villages, typically just a few steps away from a lake, and of course you can stop at any moment on the long beaches of the Atlantic for a dip or relax. The final part of the holiday will takes you along the Basque coast, first to Bayonne and then to Biarritz, the famous seaside town of the Basque country.
