Management tells me they regularly welcome cyclists and can find a safe and seure room in the hotel to lock your bike. The buildingn itself dates back to 1850 and it has been lovingly restored and tastefully decorated throughout to preseve its original features. Also meets French eco-friendly standards. This is a basic but clean local hotel that is part of the Logis Hotel group (it meets their bike-friendly criteria and often welcomes cyclists on the Burgundy wine trail). There is an onsite restaurant that serves local cuisine and, unusually for France, it makes a point of catering for vegetarians. There is also a garden, where it's possible to eat in summer. Free wifi. Family rooms as well as doubles and twins. Disabled access also. Bike hire can be arranged locally for rides out to Vézelay or Chablis. French and English spoken.

Madeleine is keen to welcome you to her wonderful B&B only 150 METRES (!!!) from the Avenue Verte London to Paris bike route and just 25km from Dieppe – it's an ideal first/last stop on your way from/to the ferry port. Located on the 45km section of the route linking Dieppe to Forges Les Eaux, this really is a super base at the gateway to some of northern France's best biking; the Somme, Monet’s Gardens, Honfleur and Rouen can all be reached from here using a network of bike paths and backroads. Madeleine offers hearty three-course gourmet dinners (by arrangement), or there's a lovely French restaurant in the village. She has owned the B&B for more than 10 years, so she's an expert when it comes to offering local information and advice. In addition to the B&B, there's a lovingly converted self-catering barn for four people (double bed + sofa) available for week-long stays during July and August, and shorter stays the rest of the year. Au Relais de Chaussy is a highly regarded stop perfectly located for cyclists tackling the Avenue Verte London to Paris bike route (the location is excellent as it's near the spot where the route heads in two directions en route to Paris). A warm welcome, tasty home cooking, lovely well-appointed rooms and secure bike store await – all at a great price. This is a really attractive option for anyone who finds themsleves in the area. The B&B is registered as an accueil vélo member via the Parc Naturel Régional du Vexin tourist board. Free wifi. By all reports, it's basic but clean, with the owners offering good, friendly service. It's a popular stop with cyclists, so the staff are used to welcoming visitors on two wheels. Situated in a large garden next to private woodland ‘Le Petit Hibou’ (Little Owl) is a peaceful, cosy retreat in the grounds a family run cycling holidays business. Perfect for couples or friends, the cabin sleeps two people, has a wood burner for chilly nights, an ensuite shower and toilet, kitchenette and a wood-fired Scandinavian hot tub for post-ride relaxation. It's perfect year-round. Ideal for touring cyclists looking for a place to call their own for a night or two, or even a week-long training base. There's fresh produce available locally (don't miss the Sunday market in nearby Saint-Antonin), or you can take a package that includes food. With the Gorges d'Aveyron on the doorstep, there are spectacular views (and roads), and lots to see and do. The cabin provides a perfect base for more leisurely cycling as well as challenging roadie routes. It's cyclist-run, so there's lots of in-house bikey knowledge (there isn't a local road Marcus hasn't ridden). Hybrid bikes available in-house (road bikes and e-bikes can also be hired locally), train and airport transfers available. English and French spoken.

The Avignon Grand Hotel is a lovely hotel in a lovely location. It's right near the Avignon Centre train station, so a great spot for the start or end of a cycling trip. It's also just outside the city walls, so handy for exploring the old town. The staff are friendly, the wifi is fast and the breakfasts are hearty and healthy to keep cyclists happy.
