The full 2018 Tour de France route will be announced on Tuesday, October 17. We will add accommodation options to this page after the route confirmation and as accommodation options come to hand.

2018 Tour de France

 

We're compiling a list of bike-friendly hotels, B&Bs and self-catering gites within reach of the 2018 Tour de France route. It's a work in progress and we're adding to it all the time.

All these Tour de France accommodation options have secure bicycle parking and are run by bike-friendly owners and managers who are listed in our Where to stay section.

Grand Depart – La Vendée

Grand Depart 2018 Tour de France vendee

Stage 1: Saturday, July 7 – Noirmoutier to Fontenay-le-Comte (195km)

Route includes: St-Jean-de-Monts, St-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, Les Sables d’Olonne, La Tranche-sur-Mer, Triaize and Maillezais.

Stage 2: Sunday, July 8 – Mouilleron-St-Germain to La Roche-sur-Yon (185km),

Route includes:
 Puzaugesn les Herbiers, Tiffauges, Montaigu, Aizenay, Nieul-le-Dolent and St-Florent-des-Bois.

Le Village du BoisTalmont-Saint-Hilaire
Close to unspoilt coastlines these gites can cater for groups and families of all sizes.

Gites Au Marcassin and Au Cocorico, St-Paul-en-Gatine
Cyclist friendly gites surrounded by peaceful countryside. Read our review here.

Les Gîtes de Fontenioux, Vernoux-en-Gâtine
Near to the Velo Francette cycle path, these two lovingly converted worker houses make a great base for watching the race whilst exploring the area.

Best Western Masqhotel, La Rochelle
Very welcoming hotel for cyclists, based in the pretty town of La Rochelle and close to Ile de Re,  La Vélodyssée route, as well as La Velo Francette.

Camping and Caravaning du Jard, La Tranche-sur-Mer
Close to the sea and beaches and there are also free buses to the local villages and markets.

Camping and Caravanning Domaines Des Forges, Avrillé
Large open site set in the grounds of a 16th century manor house and great for children.

Hotel Kyriad La Roche Sur Yon, La Roche-sur-Yon
Clean and efficient hotel, you might see some teams staying here too.

Stage 3: Monday, July 9 – Cholet (35km Team Time Trial)

Stage 4: Tuesday, July 10 – Depart La Baule

Towards: Pontchâteau, Blain and Nozay. Full stage not yet released.
