Canal du Midi - Can anyone help?

We are a couple from Bilbao, North of Spain, with one year old little kid. We are planning to travel by a bicycle along the Canal du Midi, starting from Agde, towards Toulouse, from the 5th or 6th April (for a week)
We will bring our bicicles and a bike-trailer with us. Is it possible to rent a trailer to carry luggage (camping-tent, mattress, sleeping bags,....)
How is the path for the kid? Are there too much holes ?
We do not know how far we will be able to travel. Is it possible to take train back to Agde from any village?

Did bordeaux Sete on the canal last may with my 60 year old husband who had never ridden a bike before. Had a fantastic time, however after tolouse the path gets very narrow in places and very bumpy with tree roots the size of your arm. recomend train to toulouse and canal lateral direction bordeaux lots of campings and tarmacked paths most of the way you are also allowed to do wild camping by the side of the canal.Gladly give you all the imformation you need. We are doing bordeaux Spain on the voire vert along the coast , so any imformation you have on the Spanish side would be a great help. Barbie
