Join the team at Serre Des Ormes for Le Tour week, which combines fabulous riding around the stunning Méouge Valley with a fully supported trip to what will surely be a crucial mountain stage of the Tour over Col de Vars and a summit finish on Col d’Izoard. The week also includes a fully supported ride the Gorges de la Nesque and Mont Ventoux. End the week by riding out from Serre Des Ormes to watch Stage 19 of the tour as the riders head south from the mountains, through the lavender fields of Provence on the longest stage of the tour. The price includes Marseille Airport transfer, 7 nights' B&B at Serre Des Ormes, six two-course evening meals, with wine, aperitif and hors d'oeuvres, 2 fully supported days riding (including lunches, snacks and drinks). The Cancer Support France bike ride is an annual event to raise money and awareness for a great network that supports English-speakers living in France with cancer. This year's route starts among the turrets of Carcassonne and ends four stages later by the glittering Mediterranean Sea at Sète, stopping at Homps, Narbonne and Valras-Plage on the way. The shortest stage is 40km and the longest is 60km – you can ride as many stages as you like. The majority of the route follows canal paths, following the Canal du Midi from Carcassonne, branching off onto the Le Canal de la Robine and then heading along the coast to Sète. The ride is an informal event, with participants planning their own bike hire and accommodation, though support is also available via the organisers (see here for a special support package that combines B&B accommodation and luggage transfers to help take the hassle out of your planning).

This self-guided tour run by a local Provence company is a perfect blend of cycling, gorgeous old towns, lively local markets and, of course, fine wine. You'll have a day to explore the cobbled streets of medieval Avignon before winding your way through cherry orchards, forests, vineyards and canyons as you explore the region. Your luggage will be transferred between accommodation, so all you need to do is ride. Experience Mont Ventoux (to climb or not to climb?) from its forested slopes, before continuing to the most prestigious winemaking villages in the southern Rhône Valley: Gigondas, Vacqueyras and Beaumes de Venise (sweet muscat whites). You hit the plains before climbing slightly to Chateauneuf du Pape and then the Rhône River, leading back to Avignon. Ride the cols of the Pyrenees from cyclist Martyn's base in the beautiful Aude at the foothills of the mountains and within reach of all the big-hitters: Col de Portel, Col De Portet d'Aspet, Col de Peyresourde, Col de Mente, Col de Aspin, Tourmalet and the Hautacam. Available as either guided or self-guided, this relaxed tour explores a beautiful stretch of the Provencal coast allowing you partake in the glamour of the Côte d’Azur with the option of escaping it all via quiet, secluded roads. With rides limited to between 20 and 30 kilometres each day (plus a couple of rest days), the pace of this French cycling itinerary really allows you to enjoy the region's varied landscape, its flora and fauna. The route starts and ends in Saint-Raphaël, a delightful Riviera town near Frejus with its Roman architectural heritage. But it also takes in lovely Mediterranean towns and lesser known beaches along the way, even allowing for a dip at the end of each ride before dining and falling asleep to the sound of the sea.
